Travel in safety and ensure that your vision meets the legal DVLA requirements

DVLA-LogoYour safety and the safety of those around you should be your priority when in control of a vehicle. The most important driving tool you have is your vision, and if this doesn’t meet standard DVLA requirements, you may be forced to stop driving or worse, cause a serious accident.

As specialists in DVLA testing, we recommend that you visit us for a full DVLA screening at least once every two years. Our experienced optometrists will complete the appropriate tests on your vision and advise you on the best ways to ensure that your vision is in-keeping with DVLA standards.

Your eyes will be tested to see how well they respond to light. The DVLA test should take around 15 minutes to complete and if you already wear glasses for driving, we may ask you to take the test with and without them.

Should you notice any changes in your vision that you feel may hamper your driving, it is vital that you contact us immediately and book an appointment as soon as possible.

Make sure you bring any eyewear that you use with you to the test. Trouble focussing on road signs and sore vision caused by glare could be the early signs of an eye condition.
